Reduce Shipping Costs for Longer Curtain Rod Installations
When you measure your window for a drapery rod installation, you may discover that you need to cover a length that is longer than 8 feet. To reduce shipping costs, connecting multiple rods is recommended.
Shipments over 8ft in length can be more costly to ship. In order to avoid the excessive shipping cost charged by carriers for longer length rods, it is recommended that multiple rods that are a maximum of 8 feet long be used for larger installations.
Menagerie will cut drapery rods to specified lengths. When using mulitple rods to cover a window, it is recommended that each rod be cut to the same length and connected with a rod connection screw, then supported with a bracket directly on the splice or brackets on either side of the connection.
Here's an example: You have a window that is 8 feet and you want a drapery rod that extends past the window a foot on each side so that you can expose as much of the window opening as possible when the drapery is stacked on each side.
You may purchase two 6-foot drapery rods and have a one-foot section removed from each. After we cut the rods, we will center drill a hole for the rod connection.
Once the rods are connected and another bracket is used for added support, you have a window that is beautifully framed by functional drapery panels.
